The Best Albums of 2016 : Recap 16.02 – February

The Best Albums of February 2016. New albums from Iggy Pop, Kanye West, Elton John, The Cult, Porches, M. Ward, Suuns and Lucinda Williams did not make this months Top 5 – even though the standards are much lower than last month.

The best of the lot: the dreamy album “Wabi-Sabi” by the husband-and-wife duo of Emily Cross and Dan Duszynski, Cross Record.

Barry Adamson, the former bass player of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Visage (among others), released his 10th album, the excellent “Know Where To Run”.

The rhythm and blues, jazzy, soul, feel good album “Hold On!” of the James Hunter Six will lighten up any day, anywhere. Here’s a TV live performance from December.

Another feel good album that is more than worth the while: The DJ set / compilation of Moodymann, “DJ-Kicks”.

“Banshee” is by no means a perfect album but I have week spot for “The Cave Singers”.
